A synthetic diamond manufacturer engaged Climeaction to support its long-term decarbonisation journey through a combined FAST and CAaaS partnership.
The Challenge
Before working with Climeaction, this client struggled with a high dependency on natural gas across multiple zones for heating and process steam. They had limited visibility and integration of energy performance data across departments.
Scope 3 emissions are mainly driven by purchased goods and upstream transport, with limited supplier data and a high share from carbon-intensive materials like synthetic diamond. Finally, the company faced capital constraints for implementing high ROI but large-scale energy projects (e.g, heat pumps).
While the client had an extensive array of metering on site and recording data back to their central BMS, it was found the data quality and the upkeep and maintenance of the system had fallen in recent months.
