Climeaction’s arrival in Boston since last August comes at a critical moment

Climeaction Expands to Boston, Unlocking $27M for Industrial Decarbonization and Digital Agriculture Innovation
Boston, MA & Cork, Ireland – March 13, 2025 – Climeaction, a leader in industrial decarbonization, has officially launched its Boston office, marking a major milestone in its U.S. expansion. The office was inaugurated by Ireland’s Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Tourism, Peter Burke, underscoring the company’s growing impact on both sides of the Atlantic.
With a strong track record of delivering large-scale carbon reduction solutions in Ireland, Climeaction is now poised to bring its expertise to the New England region, addressing urgent industrial and policy challenges through innovative financing and technology solutions.
Climeaction is making waves with two groundbreaking initiatives:
These investments will unlock new opportunities for U.S. businesses to cut emissions, lower energy costs, and improve supply chain sustainability at a time when traditional funding sources are shrinking.
Scaling Industrial Decarbonization
In collaboration with Business Venture Partners (BVP), Climeaction is deploying a €25 million ($27M) Green Transition Fund to accelerate industrial decarbonization across Irish manufacturing.
This initiative will fund fully managed capital projects, including:
✅ Industrial heat pumps & electric boilers – Replacing fossil-fuel heating systems
✅ Large-scale solar PV (>1MW) – Reducing grid dependence and lowering energy costs
With over €400 million worth of decarbonization projects identified, this funding removes key financial barriers for manufacturers while cutting more than 25,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions and creating 25 new jobs.
“We are already seeing major demand for fully funded decarbonization projects,” said Paul Murphy, CEO of Climeaction. “This model has enormous potential to scale internationally, and we are actively exploring a similar $50 million fund for New England manufacturers.”
Filling the Funding Gap in Massachusetts’ Energy Transition
Climeaction’s arrival in Boston since last August comes at a critical moment. Massachusetts recently announced a $500M cut to Mass Save, the state’s flagship energy efficiency program, leaving many businesses struggling to finance low-carbon upgrades.
In response, Climeaction is working to establish a $50M Climate Transition Fund for New England, aimed at helping industrial manufacturers invest in energy efficiency and clean technology despite shifting policy landscapes. Climeaction are interested to speak with funding partners on this approach.
“Massachusetts has led the nation in energy efficiency, but these cuts will leave businesses without crucial capital for decarbonization,” Murphy said. “We’re stepping in with innovative financing solutions to ensure manufacturers can still access the funding they need to reduce emissions, lower costs, and remain globally competitive.”
$500K Investment in Digital Agriculture: Revolutionizing Supply Chain Auditing
In addition to industrial decarbonization, Climeaction has secured €500,000 ($540,000) from Enterprise Ireland to advance its VSAG digital platform, designed to revolutionize farm-level engagement and supply chain carbon tracking.
Many industries—including dairy, coffee, soya, and cotton—struggle with poor survey participation at the farm level, leading to incomplete or unreliable sustainability data. VSAG will address this challenge with an intuitive, mobile-based platform that enhances farmer engagement while cutting audit costs.
This innovation is expected to drive significant job creation, with Climeaction adding 70 new positions in Ireland and up to 50 new jobs in the U.S. across engineering, consulting, and sales.
“Enterprise Ireland has been an invaluable partner in our global expansion,” Murphy said. “This investment in VSAG will allow us to scale faster while bringing real value to manufacturers and their supply chains.”
With its Boston expansion, pioneering financing models, and growing international team, Climeaction is positioned to become a global powerhouse in industrial decarbonization.
“Our mission is simple: to remove the barriers to deep carbon reduction and mainstream climate action ” Murphy stated. “The U.S. is a key market for us, and with the right financing and technology, we can drive real, measurable impact in New England and beyond.”
